Day 1 of the NIWBA Finals saw 3 championships decided. In the triples, Shirley Dew, Teri Millar and Doreen Whelan from Lurgan retained their triples title beating Bridget Smith, Pauline McCormick and Jennifer McClure 25-13. In the fours final, Wendy Cassells, Ann Polin, Pauline Beattie and Laura Cassells from Markethill beat Shola Gilpin, June Bell, Joanie Mullen and Bernie Hanratty from Portadown 28-7.
