Championship Winners - Day 1

Day 1 of the NIWBA Finals saw 3 championships decided. In the triples, Shirley Dew, Teri Millar and Doreen Whelan from Lurgan retained their triples title beating Bridget Smith, Pauline McCormick and Jennifer McClure 25-13.

In the fours final, Wendy Cassells, Ann Polin, Pauline Beattie and Laura Cassells from Markethill beat Shola Gilpin, June Bell, Joanie Mullen and Bernie Hanratty from Portadown 28-7.

Pauline Beattie and Jennifer McClure then played each other in the singles final. Pauline retained her title winning 21-11, picking up her second title of the day.

In tomorrow's finals, Iris Scott ( Lisnagarvey) plays Jennifer McClure in the Senior Fours, while June Bell and Joanie Mullen play E. Toal and Bernie McGleenan from Dungannon in the pairs.
